The origin

The history of La Costa is intimately entwined with Andrea Chionetti, Nicola's father. In 1978, Andrea, after a thorough study of the family vineyards, pinpointed a small plot atop the Briccolero hill as ideal for making a new Dogliani from a single vineyard. This vineyard, originally planted by Quinto in the late 1950s, remains the oldest on the estate.

The soil is white, presenting an original composition of clay, silt and an important sandy component. Its origins date back to the late 1950s when the first vines were planted.
